KDCA Silver Jubilee Tournament: DC XI registers two victories

KIPHIRE — In the ongoing Kiphire District Cricket Association (KDCA) Silver Jubilee Tournament, on Thursday, DC XI defeated Abide and Kiphire Super Kings in two matches while Saramati Nexus Club beat RR Kiphire Knight Riders.

Played at local ground in Kiphire town, in the first match, DC XI scored 162 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, while Abide managed 69 runs for 10 wickets in 13 overs, resulting in a victory for DC XI by 93 runs.

In the second match, Saramati Nexus Club posted 145 runs for 9 wickets in 15 overs, narrowly defeating RR Kiphire Knight Riders, who scored 144 runs for 5 wickets in 15 overs, with Saramati Nexus Club winning by 1 run.

In the third match, Kiphire Super Kings made 45 runs for 6 wickets in 5 overs, while DC XI chased down the target with 48 runs for 1 wicket in 4.5 overs, winning by 9 wickets.

The president of KDCA, Justin Khatomong T, expressed his joy at witnessing young, emerging players showcasing their talent for the district during the occasion.

Khatomong extended his gratitude to the Nagaland Cricket Association for its continuous support and expressed hope for the creation of more opportunities for youth development in the district.

He also emphasised the importance of viewing sports as a profession, urging the younger generation to see sports as more than just casual play.
