Rotary Club celebrates International Literacy Day

Officials of Rotary Club of Dimapur along with the winners of the speech competition on the occasion of International Literacy Day on Saturday.

DIMAPUR — Commemorating International Literacy Day, the Rotary Club of Dimapur organised a speech competition on Saturday at the Pranab jubilee auditorium, Dimapur.

An update from the club stated that students from various prominent schools participated in the programme, marking Rotary’s global observance of September as the literacy month.

It stated that a total of 20 students, who were divided into two groups, participated in the competition.

In Group A, Hari Debnath of Class 10 from SD Jain School won the first prize, while Olemnaro Aier of Class 9 from Living Stone International School secured second prize.

In Group B, Hilina Rashid from SD Jain School won first prize, while Moarenba N Kitchu also from SD Jain School won the second prize.

The president of the Dimapur Rotary Club, Monoj Bhattacharjee, has expressed gratitude to the principals, teachers and students for their participation.

The chairman of the programme, SP Dutta, also thanked the judges namely Dr. Sanjukta Bhattacharjee, principal of Public College Ajit Singh, and Rosy Gogoi.

Winners were awarded with a memento, appreciation certificate and a gift.
