National Sports Day: YRS dept. informs meritorious sports persons

DIMAPUR — In commemoration of the National Sports Day 2024 to be observed on August 29, the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports (YRS) has informed that the cash award programme to meritorious sports persons for the year 2023-24 will be held on August 29 at IG Stadium, Kohima, at 11 am.

The award will be given to those who won medals in recognised disciplines and tournaments affiliated to NOA in the international, national and North-East levels, according to a DIPR report.

The concerned medal winners who have submitted their certificates are to collect the award personally. As per the SOP direction from the Union Sports Ministry, all sportspersons have been requested to come in sports attire.
