DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) has expressed profound outrage and unequivocal condemnation over the alleged heinous and brutal murder of Rüchùvolu, a mother of four children, by her own husband Sepratso on May 31 at 4th Mile, Chümoukedima.

In a condemnation note, the NSCW said that the savage nature of the crime is a stark reminder of the pervasive issue of domestic violence that continues to plague the society.
“It is imperative not to allow this kind of atrocity to be dismissed as an isolated incident but rather recognise it as part of a broader, systemic problem that demands urgent and comprehensive action,” the commission said.
The NSCW urged all relevant stakeholders, including the government, law enforcement agencies and community organisations to intensify their efforts in combating domestic violence in all forms, so that similar barbarity doesn’t recur.
The NSCW also demanded that the competent authorities ensure that the perpetrator is brought to justice with the full force of the Law, to serve as a deterrent to others.
Further, it called upon all responsible entities to act decisively and with urgency so that justice is served to Rüchüvolu at the earliest.
