DIMAPUR — The returning officers (ROs) of Chozuba Town Council, Tening Town Council, Mangkolemba Town Council, Phek Town Council and Tuensang Town Council have notified that nomination papers for the elections of the town councils may be delivered between 11 am and 3 pm on any day (other than a public holiday) from June 7 to the 11th.
According to DIPR reports, the nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on June 13, and notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate, their proposer or their election agent (authorised in writing by the candidate) before 3 pm on June 18.
In the event that the election is contested, the poll will be held on June 26 between 7:30 am and 4 pm.
It has been specified that ward numbers 1, 4, and 7 are reserved for women in Tening Town Council and Mangkolemba Town Council. In Phek Town Council, ward numbers 1, 4, 7, and 10 are reserved for women. In Tuensang Town Council, ward numbers 1, 4, 7, 10, and 13 are reserved for women.
