DIMAPUR — Modern College, Piphema, organised its parting social on Wednesday for the outgoing students at its premises.
According to a press release, on the occasion, a speech on behalf of the outgoing students was delivered by Beyau K from the 6th semester, while Pelee Hekha, the Managing Director of Modern College, provided an exhortation to the parting seniors.
Hekha encouraged the students to step out of their comfort zones and learn to face life’s challenges. He motivated them to explore the world of possibilities beyond their current horizons.
Salesian College: The Salesian College of Higher Education, Dimapur, celebrated ‘gratitude day’ in honour of the outgoing batch of 2024 in the college auditorium hall on Wednesday.
Fr. Maria Anthuvan SDB, speaking on the occasion, expressed gratitude to the outgoing students for their contributions and dedication towards the well-being of the college. He encouraged the students to uphold the value of hard work and to be good citizens, contributing to the development of the nation.
The event featured various performances by both students and teachers.
Lily, assistant professor of the English department, delivered a farewell speech on behalf of the teaching faculty, advising the students to ‘never stop excelling in everything’. Peter Khing expressed gratitude to the college, the faculty, and the students for their unwavering support and guidance during the past three years on behalf of the outgoing students.
The day concluded with friendly football and basketball matches played between the outgoing students and the college team.
Mount Mary College: Mount Mary College, Chümoukedima, celebrated the 10th parting social for the outgoing batch at Yashipokla Memorial Hall on April 30. The theme for the event was ‘Sayonara Senpai’.
According to an update, Dr. C Teeya Imsong, Managing Director of Mount Mary College, urged the students to adopt a progressive mindset and encouraged them to continue working hard in his speech.
He referenced “Kaizen,” a Japanese term signifying “change for the better” or “continuous improvement,” and encouraged the outgoing students to contribute to the progress and growth of both the college and society as a whole.
