Doyang Hydro Power Station conducts workshop on women’s wellbeing
DIMAPUR — As part of the post-celebration of International Women’s Day 2024, the Doyang Hydro Power Station of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) conducted a seminar and workshop on women’s empowerment and women’s well-being on the theme “Inspire inclusion” on April 6.
According to a press release, the seminar and workshop was conducted for the women employees of NEEPCO and its associated organisations, namely CISF and VKV, as well as for the local women residing around the power station.
The primary goal of the programme was to assist women in adopting a holistic wellness lifestyle for their overall well-being.
The special guest of the programme, Lily P Chawang, general manager of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Ltd., spoke about the basic human needs for survival based on Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and how each stage plays an important role in human survival, gradually leading to a meaningful life.
She emphasised the importance of work-life balance regardless of one’s job profile, whether they are a homemaker or an employee. Chawang highlighted how each assigned role in the respective work should be carried out with sincerity, honesty, and efficiency. According to her, by doing so, one can achieve a meaningful life and enhance job satisfaction.
The resource person for the programme, Bokatoli Sumi, a counselling psychologist from Serendip Guardians, discussed women’s mental health and stressed the significant role of social support in achieving good mental health.
The session concluded with self-care activities, in which women participants engaged in activities such as a trust walk, breathing exercises, and self-reflection questions.
