DIMAPUR — A week-long entrepreneurship skill development programme on banana fibre extraction and handicraft began on Tuesday at Meriyan village, Wokha district.
The intensive training programme for farmers is being conducted by the Shishoi Oshom–Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF) in collaboration with the Nagaland Tool-Room and Training Centre, Dimapur.
The hands-on training programme aims to equip participants with essential skills and techniques related to banana fibre extraction and the creation of handicrafts from this versatile natural resource, stated a DIPR report, adding that through a combination of theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations, participants will learn the intricacies of fibre extraction, yarn spinning and various handicrafts making techniques.
Farmers representing Tuhutho Cooperative Farmers Producer Organisation and Lichon Farmers Producer Company from Meriyan village are participating in the training programme.
