DIMAPUR — The general secretary of Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland State (IRCSNS), Akhale V Khamo, launched the Jalukie sub-division branch on October 27 near the ADC’s office in Jalukie town under Peren district.
Speaking at the launch programme, Khamo, who was the special guest, narrated the history of International Red Cross movement and her involvement in the IRCS since its nascent stage in Nagaland. Expressing her happiness of serving needy peoples in times of crisis, she encouraged the participant to move forward to serve humanity.
Khamo also congratulated Peren district for getting a new IRCS sub-division branch and presented relief materials including other accessories to the branch for immediate use in times of emergency, stated an update from the interim chairman of Jalukie sub-division branch, Dr. Hedungkiebe.
Rev. Dr. Mongzeung Mpom, pastor of Local Baptist Church, Jalukie town, invoked God’s blessing before the launch event, while Albert, chairman of IRCS Peren district branch, presented a brief account on the formation of IRCS Jalukie sub-branch formation and TL Kiusumong Thikir, ADC of Jalukie, delivered the welcome address.
Nangkamlak Pame, a popular singer in the district, presented a song and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Hedungkiebe.
It informed that the affairs of the new branch would be managed by interim managing committee under the leadership of Dr. Hedungkiebe as chairman, Manual Kamson as general secretary, Akangna Iheilung as treasurer and Haitwa, Haizin Mpom, H Peida and Perez as members.
Report also stated that training of 36 volunteers in the district on first-aid was conducted by master trainer, Kholie Dolf, MC IRCSN, and his assistants on October 26 at DBs Court in Jalukie town.
