Home department issues security regulations at civil secretariat

DIMAPUR — To ensure smooth functioning of the State Secretariat, the Home department has issued security measures to be enforced with immediate effect.

It stated that all individuals intending to enter the premises of the Civil Secretariat should obtain a visitor’s gate pass from the reception area. A DIPR report stated that the gate pass would be mandatory for all visitors.

While obtaining the gate pass, visitors are required to disclose their identity by submitting any of the following documents as proof of identification including driving license, PAN (Permanent Account Number), Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, national passport, central/ state government ID and PSU ID.

It stated that government officials representing directorates and districts, who are on official duty or attending meetings within the Civil Secretariat premises, should present their official identity card to security personnel when entering.

It added that officials and staff working within the Civil Secretariat should produce their official ID cards whenever requested by security personnel.

It further stated that security personnel are authorised to deny entry to any visitor who fails to produce a valid identity card or is found in possession of unauthorised items or weapons. It added that entry would be denied to individuals in an inebriated condition.

ESD&E cautions unauthorised entry

The Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (ESD&E) has decided to enforce strict regulations on entry of individuals after office hours and parking of vehicles within the office complex.

In an official release, the department expressed concerns regarding the unauthorised entry and habitual parking of vehicles within the office compound, which resulted in unwanted consequences including loss and damage to office properties and instances of anti-social activities.

It mentioned that the department had previously issued a notification on May 29, 2023, to streamline the entry and parking of vehicles within the office compound.

In light of the above stated circumstances, it cautioned that any individuals found violating those regulations would be reported to the appropriate authorities for necessary actions. It further requested all the concerned to cooperate and adhere with the regulations for the betterment of the office environment and security.
