DIMAPUR — The rival group of the Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) has clarified that it did not organise the August 22 peace rally in Wokha town.
The group in a press release stated that LBCA, being a religious organisation engaged in the extension of God’s kingdom, never has plans to organise “such rally and propaganda programmes but leave everything to God for His judgment, except seeking justice and administrative fair-play as guaranteed by Baptist Distinctive on which our faith foundation is based.”
“The LBCA understands that the kingdom of God cannot be ruled by force, lies and exaggerations,” the group stated and clarified that the rally was not organised by the LBCA, which was “established in 1923 through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.”
“The Rally was, in fact, organised by LBCA (R) which was established by Lotha Hoho on March 18, 2022 at VDB Hall, Wokha, and which had renamed its nomenclature six times as Pro-tem Team, RCC., R., Tssocholan, Care Taker, and finally using both Tssocholan and R simultaneously,” it claimed.
The LBCA group also pointed out that the permission to organise the rally was specifically granted to LBCA (R) by the deputy commissioner, Wokha, and not to LBCA having its mission centre at Vankhosüng, and “with condition not to enter the LBCA mission centre Vankhosüng.”
It went on to state that the deputy commissioner granted permission for the rally despite the high court’s direction dated August 3, 2023, “which is pending disposal.”
“Further, the LBCA make known to all, that organising huge crowd from one or two churches to show a massive crowd does not represent the voice of 146 churches under LBCA and wonders whether such force, lies, exaggerations, etc., can also be termed as doctrinal error?
“Till date the LBCA had exercised maximum restraint to stay away from the print media, but the LBCA feel the need to issue this press statement for public awareness so that this religious virus which is eating the Lotha Baptist churches does not infect other religious organisations of other Naga tribes,” it added.
