KOHIMA — Reminding that the state capital Kohima belongs to all, MLA of 9 Kohima town assembly constituency, Dr. Tsielhoutuo Rhütso, has called upon the Angami community to maintain accommodative spirit and make other communities feel safe.

Dr. Rhütso stated this during the 25th anniversary celebration of the Tsiepfutsiepfhe (AG) Upper Sector on Saturday held at the Modern Institute of Teacher Education (MITE) in Kohima. Dr. Rhütso, who was the special guest of the event, urged the Angami settlers to be accommodative and to make other communities in the colony feel safe saying that Kohima belongs to all.

Pointing out that traffic congestion hampers productivity of the citizens to a great extent; he informed the people to be prepared for change as the government is planning a one-way traffic in various localities of Kohima town and exuded hope that it would produce positive results. In this regard, he has sought support and participation of the colony and citizens to cooperate once the regulation is announced.

Dr. Rhütso advised the students to give emphasis in their academics, while he also asked the parents to guide their children not only to focus on certificates but give them the freedom to choose and be employable. He said employability is more important than certificates.

He further reiterated his commitment to work for the people in the health, education and employment sectors.

The chief host for the event, Kevipodi Sophie, who is also an MLA from 14 Southern Angami I Assembly Constituency, exhorted the residents to unite and make it unique so as to create a model colony in the capital city.

Expounding that everyone in the colony is responsible for a peaceful colony, he called upon the residents to strive towards curbing bad things that could hamper the existence of the society and the locality.

He also advised the people to respect the colony leaders and all frontal organisations who are working for the welfare of the colony while he also stressed on the need to maintain cleanliness and hygiene to live a healthy life.

Neizokhotuo Belho, chairman of TTC (AG), implored the people to forget the differences of the past and love the colony.

Speeches were also delivered by Hokiye Kire, Head GB of TTC, and Keneikrül Noswe, the first president of Tsiepfutsiepfhe (AG) Upper Sector.

The programme was chaired by Vilekho Bio, advisor of TTC upper sector, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Khriesamhalie Santsu, vice president of the colony. A song was also presented by Upper AG CRC youth.
