Nagaland has 20,06,436 CSS beneficiaries from 2014-2023
Kohima — A total of 20,06,436 beneficiaries from Nagaland availed various centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) and programmes amounting to INR 1674.29 crore from 2014-2023.
This was informed by Ketsükha Kath, joint director of Agriculture during the technical session of the one-day media workshop ‘Vartalap’ on ‘9 years seva, sushasan and garib kalyan’ organised by the Press Information Bureau, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kohima, on Tuesday.
In the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, a total of 1,37,311 citizens from the state benefited from the scheme amounting to INR 387.50 cr. The scheme, aimed at achieving a 4% increase in the annual growth of Agri. & Allied Sectors, is implemented by six departments and four missions in 45 clusters involving 108 villages, Kath said.
Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana (PM-KISAN) assisted 2,15,343 small and marginal farmers in Nagaland amounting to INR 440.41 cr as on June 2023.
The National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) benefitted 1404 farmers from Nagaland and INR 32.23 cr has been released in this regard. The NMEO-OP covering 5000 hectares with 1200 hectares of fruit-bearing is being implemented in the state from 2022-2023.
The department envisages extending plantation areas in a sustainable manner along the hugely potential foot-hills areas of the state in the cultivable wastelands without disturbing the natural biodiversity, the official said.
As for the National Mission on Edible Oils- Oil Seeds (NMEO-OS), there are 13,750 beneficiaries and the amount released so far stands at INR 12.54 cr.
In the Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), the scheme is being implemented by seven Agri. & Allied departments for extension services. So far, there are a total of 802750 ATMA beneficiaries in Nagaland and the amount released stands at INR 126.64 crore
For RIDF – XIX (NABARD Negotiated Loan), there were 7,300 beneficiaries amounting to INR 34.33 cr. Under the RIDF XXVI (NABARD Negotiated Loan), the project titled construction of community Agri. farm road having 65 project sites is being undertaken with the duration from 2021 to 2024.
The project cost is INR 2,605.84 lakh while the amount sanctioned to date is INR 1,232.84 lakh (INR 1373.00 lakh balance).
There are 16,200 beneficiaries from Nagaland under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD-NER) and INR 107.02 cr has been released till date.
It is a central sector scheme, implemented by Agriculture, Horticulture and NEDFi for the post harvest value chain. Currently, the total area covered is 23,000 ha out of which 13,000 ha have been certified as organic.
The crops include ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, king chilli, glutinous rice, rajma, brown rice, mustard, perilla, millet, kiwi, pineapple, passion fruit, apple and dragon fruit. The product is marketed under the brand name ‘Naga Organic,’ he said.
Under the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Machineries (SMAM), there are 19038 beneficiaries and the amount released is INR 190.40 cr till date. Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana – Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) has 42,670 beneficiaries and INR 139.12 cr has been released.
As many as 7,29,581 beneficiaries benefitted from the National Food Security Mission (NFSM).
Meanwhile, 8999 beneficiaries received INR 63.59 cr under Rainfed Area Development (RAD). Launched during 2014-15, it aims at sustainable production, remunerative and climate-resilient agriculture farming.
Seven hundred and fifty persons benefited Under North-East Council (NEC) Agri-Development on cluster basis in Peren, Mokokchung and Mon districts.
Further, 10,820 beneficiaries received INR 6.47 cr released under Sub-Mission on Seeds & Planting Materials (SMSP) programme while under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), 520 beneficiaries received INR 0.76 cr.
Proposal for allocation of INR 32,373.64 lakh during 2023-24
The department further proposed for allocation of INR 32,373.64 lakh for the year 2023-24. An amount of INR 13,922.44 lakh has been proposed under Krishonnati Yojana with INR 1,290.47 lakh as state share and 12,631.96 lakh as central share (tentative GOI allocation is 11564.00).
The department also proposed an allocation of INR 13,220.60 lakh (INR 11,891.67 lakhs as central share and INR 1,328.93 lakh state share) under RKVY-Cafeteria. It further proposed for allocation of INR 3,090.00 lakh for the Digital Agriculture Mission and INR 2,140.60 lakh for agristack.
