Neiphiu Rio sworn in as Nagaland CM for 5th time
Neiphiu Rio was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Nagaland for a record fifth time in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other national BJP leaders at the Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima, on Tuesday.
Nagaland Governor La Ganesan administered the oath of office to chief minister and other council of ministers in the presence of Prime Minister Modi who was accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, President BJP National JP Nadda, NEDA Convenor and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Rio set the record as the longest serving chief minister of Nagaland for five times- 2003 to 2008, 2008 – 2013, 2013 -2014, 2018-2023, and 2023.
TR Zeliang (NDPP) and Y Patton (BJP) were also sworn in as deputy chief ministers. This was followed by the nine other cabinet ministers – G Kaito Aye (NDPP), Jacob Zhimomi (BJP), KG Kenye (NDPP), P Paiwang Konyak (BJP, Metsubo Jamir (NDPP), Temjen Imna Along (BJP), CL John (NDPP), Salhoutuonuo Kruse (NDPP), and P Bashangmongba Chang (BJP).
