Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN): While reminding that enough blood had been shed and untold torture meted to the Nagas in their struggle for freedom, president of Pochury Students’ Union (PSU), Müphatho Nyuthe, has called upon the people to stand as one and not be enticed with packages and temporary solution.

Speaking at the 62nd Pochury Black Day programme at Freedom Park in Matikhrü village under Meluri sub-division in Phek district on September 6, organised by the Pochury Students’ Union, Müphatho Nyuthe has discouraged the Naga freedom fighters in forming new groups for self-benefit in the pretext of taking the Naga issue forward. He further urged the negotiating parties to expedite the talks and stated that the solution should be honorable, inclusive, acceptable and lasting in the interest of younger generation.

Dwelling on the significance of the day, Müphatho Nyuthe, felt that the Matikhrü massacre should be acknowledged by every Naga as it was the supreme sacrifice made in the history of Nagas struggle for freedom.

Delivering the solidarity message, president of Pochury Mothers’ Association (PMA), Sürhothsü Phoji, acknowledged the sacrifices made by Nagas and urged upon the gathering to foster unity for peaceful coexistence and harmonious society. She further called upon all the Naga political groups to unite and fight for the Naga cause with utmost sincerity.

Solidarity messages of A Kenneth from the Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) and Zarsie Nyuthe, NSCN/GPRN member of collective leadership, were also read out during the programme.

The programme was chaired by Tsiarhotho Tsangkhure, president of Matikhrü Students’ Union (MSU), while the welcome address was delivered by Wilson Katiry, chairman of Matikhrü Village Council, and words of gratitude was delivered by Kuorho Pojar, Head GB of Matikhrü.
