Combined Technical Association of Nagaland served ultimatum to IT and Communication department
Dimapur, Aug. 24 (EMN): The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has served an ultimatum to the Department of Information Technology and Communication for immediate requisition of one Programme Officer (PO) post, four APO posts and one Technical Assistant (TA) post to the NPSC on or before September 15 this year.
In a press release, the CTAN stated that not complying with its demand would take attract further course of action from it and its 11 federating units.
It claimed that the department’s replies to its three RTIs filed between 2019 and 2022 revealed “manipulation” which is in direct contravention to the Service Rule book that lays down the percentage to be filled through promotion and through direct recruitment.
According to the CTAN, the RTI reply received in December 2019 said that there were 13 sanctioned posts of PO, out of which one was lying vacant; and 12 sanctioned posts of TA, out of which one was lying vacant.
Then the RTI reply received in March 2022 showed one PO post vacant since February 2019 and one TA post vacant since October 2017, both of which had been sent to the government for requisition to the NPSC, but the posts have not reached the commission till date; while there was no mention of vacant posts for one Associate Programme Officer and three Assistant Programme Officers, stated the press release.
It went on to say that the RTI reply received in August 2022 showed that three persons had been “granted scale of pay under the post of Assistant Programme Officer” and one “granted scale of pay under the post of Associate Programme Officer”, all under the department notification dated 19.01.2021.
