Rotary Club Kohima installs new team

Kohima, Aug. 15 (EMN): Rotary Club of Kohima has inducted new executive members headed by its president, Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu, along with 14 new members for the tenure 2022- 2023 during an installation programme held at Hotel Japfu in Kohima on August 10.

In a press release, the out-going president, Kezhokhoto Savi, stated that Rotary Club believed in leadership wherein every member was given a chance to explore the leadership quality in themselves. He informed the gathering that for the tenure 2022-2023, Jennifer Jones became the first ever woman president of Rotary International in 115 years of its existence with the year theme ‘Imagine Rotary.’

He also expressed happiness to note that Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu was installed as its president along with the board of directors.

Elaborating on the Rotary International motto ‘Service above self,’ Savi said it means to care others and share with others and thinking about others first before oneself. He stressed that ‘To live and care for others’ was the best way to live a life which is worthwhile.

In her presidential speech after induction, Dr. Dzuvichu has highlighted on the goals and activities to be taken. She urged all the club members to work together and extend every possible help to the needy.

The past district governor, Chandu Agarwal, who was the induction officer of the programme, stated that service to mankind was the ‘rent we are paying for occupying in this earth.’ He, therefore, called upon the members to give back to the society through rendering humanitarian services.
