Nagaland reports 58 new Covid-19 cases, 1 death; India logs 31382 infections

Dimapur, Sep. 24 (EMN): The total number of Covid-19 infections in Nagaland has increased to 31,085 and active caseload to 474 with 58 new cases being reported on Friday.
The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 28,980 with 45 more patients having recuperated in the last 24 hours, while the death toll increased to 646 following one more fatality.
According to the department of Health and Family Welfare, 46 Covid-19 cases were reported in Dimapur, eight in Kohima, two in Kiphire and one each in Mokokchung and Phek.
Of the 45 new recoveries, 18 were in Dimapur, 16 in Kohima, seven in Phek, and two each in Mokokchung, and Zunheboto.
Nagaland currently has 474 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 368 are asymptomatic, 86 mild, five moderate on oxygen, 10 severe on oxygen, two in ICU without ventilator, and three in ICU on ventilator.
The district-wise break-up of active Covid-19 cases showed that Dimapur has the highest number with 240 active cases, followed by Kohima with 96, 46 in Mokokchung, 38 in Tuensang, 19 in Phek, 13 in Wokha, 11 in Kiphire, five in Longleng, four in Peren, and two in Zunheboto, while Mon is currently Covid-free.
31382 new infections in India
India logged 31,382 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 3,35,94,803, while the active cases declined to 3,00,162, the lowest in 188 days, following recuperation of 32,542 patients, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 4,46,368 with 318 fresh fatalities while the cumulative recoveries increased to 3,28,48,273 at 97.78% recovery rate.
The weekly positivity rate stands at 2.07% and daily positivity rate at 2%), informed the Health Ministry. It added that 84.15 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
