41 persons went missing in 2020 in Nagaland, says NCRB report

Dimapur, Sep. 22 (EMN): Nagaland reported 41 missing cases in 2020, wherein 19 persons were in Dimapur district and 22 in Kohima district, while no such cases were reported in other districts, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB).

The data revealed that out of the 19 missing persons in Dimapur district, 10 were male – two between 5-14 years, two between of 14-18 years, six aged between 18-30, one between 30-45 years, two between 45-60 years, and one above 60 years of age.

Of the nine female missing in the district, three were between 5-14 years, one between 14-18 years, three between 18-30 years, and one between 30-45 years.

In Kohima district, 18 of the missing persons were female, with five of them aged between 5-14 years, eight between 14-18 years, four between 18-30 years, and one between 30-45 years. Meanwhile, four missing cases in the district were male – two aged between 5-14 and another two between 14-18 years.

In the country, Maharashtra recorded the highest missing persons in 2020 with 19,804 males and 32,2283 females. Among the north-eastern states, Mizoram recorded zero missing cases in 2020 while Tripura recorded the highest with 342 males and 970 females.

NCRB also stated that crimes under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by juveniles in Nagaland, two were reported for theft, one for burglary, three for offence against property and three juveniles were under total cognisable IPC crimes.
