Dimapur, Sep. 2 (EMN): Ecotourism Management Committee of Khonoma Green Village has decided to reopen tourism activities from September 2.
In an update, chairman of Ecotourism Management Committee Neikedolie Hiekha informed that tourists planning to visit Khonoma would be allowed only on pre-booking and package tours. All tourists are asked to produce vaccination reports to the concerned tour operator.
He also informed that tourists planning to visit Khonoma Dzükou should take a local guide, which could be obtained through Khonoma tour operators. Visitors/ tourists visiting Khonoma are asked to follow 3Ws– wear masks, wash hands, watch distance and 3Cs- crowded places, close contact, closed and enclosed spaces.
The committee also informed that visitors/ tourists coming to Khonoma for picnic/ sightseeing should leave the village jurisdiction by 5 pm in winter (October to February) and 6 pm in summer (March to September). It prohibited collection of flora and fauna, washing of vehicles/ cloths in rivers, anti-social elements, gambling in any form, and loitering. It also informed that flying of drones would be allowed only at designated places. It further stated that visitors/ tourists violating the above-mentioned rules would be penalised by Khonoma Youth Organisation (KYO).
