Microsoft confirms cross-platform support for new Halo Infinite game
Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Microsoft announced today that the upcoming Halo Infinite game will have support for cross-play and cross-progression across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S when it arrives later this year.
According to a blog post on its website, Microsoft announced that the company has “been making investments across the PC gaming ecosystem” to ensure that Xbox games are available for multiple platforms.
Halo Infinite will be the franchise’s first game to launch on both PC and consoles on the same day.
“We have been working closely with the PC community to ensure that Halo Infinite offers a premier PC experience, including highly desired features such as support for ultrawide and super ultrawide screens, triple keybinds, a wide variety of advanced graphics options and more. We want to make sure that Halo is serving the PC community,” the company wrote on its blog.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode will also be free to play, joining with the likes of Call of Duty, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant and other modern first-person shooter games that offer the same.
At this point Microsoft has not confirmed whether Xbox and PC players will be automatically dropped on the same matchmaking lobby, however, it is highly likely that Halo Infinite will offer some sort of filter to help players customise their lobbies. Some PC players do not like to play against console players because of the aim-assist that comes with controllers.
Developer 343 Industries has confirmed that Halo Infinite will have an open-world environment and support for up to 120fps in the arena mode on Xbox Series X. The game looks a lot better in recent screenshots released by Microsoft but we will know the truth come launch day.
