Dimapur, Dec. 5 (EMN): Advisor for Power department, H Tovihoto Ayemi, on Saturday lauded the Dimapur Sumi Students’ Union (DSSU) for completing 50 years of establishment, stating that the union is now a ‘matured organisation’ as the first 25 years is a ‘period of adjustments with ups and downs’.
The golden jubilee celebration was held on the theme “Defining the past: reimagining the future” at Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC).
The advisor said that the pandemic has brought everything to a standstill but it has also helped them to learn a lot during this time.
Ayemi urged the gathering to be humble in life and advised to grab opportunities and be innovative ‘as no government can provide jobs to every person.’
The advisor also urged to love one another and to live in peace and harmony.
The first president of DSSU, Nihoto Chophy spoke about how DSSU was first formed and encouraged the students not to be boastful but be humble.
