Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): Aboi unit of the Konyak Union (KU) has submitted memorandum to the Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, for creation of Aboi district and also expedite the unfinished projects for early completion to mitigate the suffering of the people in the area.
The memorandum was submitted to Rio during inauguration of Polytechnic and badminton indoor stadium held at Aboi on November 27. An update from Aboi unit of the Konyak Union president Pangao Konyak and the general secretary Phongyei Konyak stated that Rio did not miss a chance to meet the people of Aboi who were waiting for him at the local ground since morning hours.
It stated that an invocation prayer was said by Rev. Wano, Missionary at Large, while the welcome address was delivered by Maopong Konyak, advisor of KU Aboi unit during the inaugural function. It added that short speeches were delivered by C Manpon, convenor of Aboi district demand committee; Sepili, ENSF president; S Howing Konyak, KU president headquarters; Temjen Imna Along, minister; and Y Patton, deputy chief minister.
The report also stated that traditional dances were performed by upper range women and KNSK Aboi unit. The vote of thanks was delivered by Pangao Konyak, president KU Aboi unit.
It further added that Rio was accompanied by Pongkhao, advisor DUDA; Medo Yokha, advisor to CM; Thongwang, MLA and chairman DPDB Mon; KD Vizo,principal secretary to chief minister; Anden, secretary DUDA; Vipulhou Thoungu, joint director of Technical Education; Nungrangmenla, joint secretary Polytechnic and Higher Education; Anungla, joint director DUDA; Weprenyi Khuboh, controller Polytechnic Higher Education; Imti Chang, EE DUDA; Nokkem, PS to deputy CM; Kenera Daulhuo, OSD security to CM; Changkei Konyak, DIG (NPTO); Imna Lansa, SP Mon; and Vizhoto Hibo, commandant 6th NAP.
