9th Inter Coy sports meet held in Naltoqa
Dimapur, April 3 (EMN): The 9th Inter Coy sports meet cum 36th Raising Day of the 8th NAP, Dynamic Eight Battalion at Naltoqa in Zunheboto district was held on April 1.
Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo was the guest of honour for the closing ceremony.
Lichamo, in his speech, shared that ‘excellence was not without discipline’ and spoke on the key factors for success like cooperation, team spirit, team work, obedience, respect etc., an update from DIPR informed.
It said that Lichamo encouraged them to “always remain sincere towards serving the people”.
H Kuhovi Sema, Commandant 8th NAP and organising chairman, said that, the battalion would “always remain thankful to the then initiators of the establishment and very importantly remember and thank the land donors from the neighbouring villages, whose vision for the future stands bright for the present generation”.
It said that the closing programme began with general salute by the buglers followed by presentation of bamboo dance by unit school, weapon handling (blind folded) from the unit; cultural dance and march pass by the participating teams.
ADM coy were the overall champions of the meet, it added.
