Dimapur, Nov. 15 (EMN): The 75th anniversary celebration of the Peren township commenced on November 15 with a renowned speaker and pastor of Police Baptist Church, Peren, Dr. Hiazuheing Ndang as the guest speaker.
Dr. Hiazuheing spoke on the importance of unity and urged the gathering to maintain community peace and unity in God’s name and added that even the weak become strong when it is united, stated a DIPR report.
“Unity represents togetherness and being there for each other and it is a must for every solution,” he said. Ndang also advised that everyone must know how to maintain a spiritual relationship with God.
“The fruit of the spirit is love and love is of God. So everyone must know that love is born of God, love is the seed of unity,” he added.
Ndang stated that Peren people should continue to strive forward physically, spiritually, and politically to witness many more successes and progress.
The programme began with an invocation prayer pronounced by pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, Peren, Eyingthung Ngullie. The president of Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation, Apeuna Iheilung, delivered the keynote address, while Voice of Calling Peren presented the 75th anniversary anthem and Rev. Bikau Pame proposed the thanksgiving prayer.
Later in the evening, an inter-ward choir competition was also held.
On the second day on November 16, the celebration programme would be graced by Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, along with the chief host and UDA chairman, TR Zeliang, and guest of honour and advisor, Namri Nchang.
