69,182 persons vaccinated in Karbi Anglong

Diphu, June 1 (EMN): A total of 69,182 persons have been vaccinated for Covid-19 in Karbi Anglong, the district immunisation officer (DIO) Karbi Anglong, Dr. Durgeswar Engti informed on Tuesday.

As informed by the office of Health and Family Welfare department, Rongkhelan, out of 69,182 vaccinated people, 55,260 persons have taken the first dose and 13,922 persons have received the second dose. 10,662 persons received Covaxin while 58,520 persons received Covishield vaccine.

There are 22 vaccination centres for 45 plus age group and nine vaccination centres for 18 to 44 years of age. There is also one model vaccination centre at Don Bosco School, Rongkhelan, which is open from morning 9:30 am until 2 pm. Dr. Engti has requested every one of the 45 plus age group to come and be vaccinated.

Dr. Engti informed that vaccine stock available for 45 plus age group is 6,040 doses. Right now, there is a shortage of Covaxin for the second dose and Covishield for the 18 to 44  age group.

‘We are requesting the state government to make the vaccine available for Karbi Anglong people’, Dr. Engti added.
