50th All Sumi Students’ Union general conference concludes

Dimapur, Jan. 31 (EMN): The 50th general conference of the All Sumi Students’ Union culminated on January 30, with Rev. Dr. Hokheto Chophi and Vikheho Swu as speakers at Old Sena village, in Zunheboto district.

A statement on Monday informed that Dr. Hokheto Chophi said that ‘God knows what’s best for people and he knows when the right time is and when it should be disposed’.

‘When people do their best, God will do the rest’, it stated.

Vikheho Swu while speaking during the valedictory session asserted that ‘we need to repair our society for a better tomorrow’.

He urged the students to promote clean elections and said that the delegates present were all leaders of their own area and urged them ‘not to be sold to money’.

He called upon the congregation to retrospect and make necessary changes.

He further called upon the Sumis to be peacemakers, and added that ‘if we want to bring peace, we have to think out of the box’.

Vikheho also urged the Sumis to have cordial relationships with other tribes.

All Sumi Students’ Union also elected Katho P Awomi as President of SKK, Nito Zhimomi as Vice President and Hekato Achumi as the General Secretary  for the term 2022-2024.
