4607 stranded citizens evacuated till date

Kohima, May 29 (EMN):
As many as 4607 stranded citizens have arrived in Ngaaland till date, according to an update received from the control room of the Empowered Committee in Dimapur on Friday evening.

Till 6 pm on Friday, 609 stranded people have reached Nagaland, informed the source to Eastern Mirror.

The special train from Rajasthan, carrying 369 returnees reached Lumding at 12:15 pm on May 29. It was informed that the government ferried the passengers by bus from Lumding to Dimapur later.

On the same day, four buses from West Bengal also transported 128 people to Dimapur at 4 pm.

A train each from New Delhi, Dibrugarh and Coimbatore also ferried 13 passengers in total to Dimapur railway station.

A private car from Uttarakhand reached Dimapur between 8-9 am with four passengers while another from Assam arrived at Kohima with two passengers around 10 am.

On Saturday, a train from New Delhi with 44 passengers is expected to arrive at 1.30 am while another from Dibrugarh will drop off one passenger at 3.40 am in Dimapur.

Meanwhile, the Shramik special train from Goa, carrying 435 Nagaland citizens, departed from Goa on Thursday and is expected to reach Lumding/Dimapur on June 1 or 2.

It was informed that the train has reached Madhya Pradesh at around 7.50 pm on Friday.
