The 3rd Volleyball Tournament organised by the Japukong was declared open by MLA and Advisor, NBDA, Dr. Longri on January 30 at Longtemtang village. The two day tournament will have 21 teams competing for the coveted trophy.
The inaugural programme witnessed Dr. Longri encouraging the JYO to dedicate and aim higher to reach national and international level. He mentioned that government is focusing on youth with sports as the main gate way to progress that the youth should also cultivate the spirit of sportsmanship and stay away from intoxicating substances. He further exhorted the youth of Japukong, Changkikong, Tsurangkong to work unitedly for development of Mangkolemba Sub-division and appealed to the public of these three ranges to co-operate with their representatives for all round development.
Chairman, Longtemtang village delivered a speech while a poem of exhortation was presented by Toshirenla and special song by Sentinaro Zimik, President Japukong Youth organisation, Daniel Longchar asserted in his Presidential speech that the Volley ball tournament was organised in 2011 with the purpose of bringing oneness among Japukong people and to promote sports, culture and that the organisation still endeavour to do so in every possible way. He appealed to his fellow people for cooperation to achieve success in the mission JYO.
The inaugural programme also graced by the presence of various government officials, dignitaries, public leaders of Mangkolemba sub-division and neighbouring areas.
