A young entrepreneur, Mele Pucho has opened his third school of music ‘Symphony Academy of Music’ at Tinpati, Kohima today.

The opening was blessed by Messen, Pastor PowerComm.

The new music school was inaugurated by six young talented artists Yanpvuo Kikon, Sanen Kichu, Sunep Oz, Mhaseve Tetseo, Zubeni Kikon and Virie.

Mele Pucho with a humble beginning started his first Symphony School of Music at Mohonkhola, Kohima in 2011 and another Symphony School of Rock at Jail Colony, Kohima. The schools have over 350 students with 22 talented teachers.

Talking at the sideline of the programme, Pucho – a young dynamic and talented entrepreneur said after coming back home in the year 2010 seeing talented musicians in the homeland with no opportunities to hone their skills has prompted him to open a music school in Kohima.

A firm believer that music is a wonderful gift from God that should be use to glorify His name, Pucho said with a strong conviction he has opened his first school to promote music education in Nagaland and to train music lovers to master the gift of music.

He opined that music has settled for good like a ‘sanctuary’ among the Nagas, wherein every household beholds the gift of music and it has somehow become an identity to the world.

Though there are limited resources and opportunities, Pucho observed that the artists/musicians in a context such as ours are potentially synchronized through shared interests and calling. Music, he said has become one of the fastest means to bring people together to a different realm.

‘With all abilities, talents, potentials and differences, no matter how unusual each artist/musician possess, they seemed to have built a good rapport coherently’ opined Pucho.

It may be mentioned that Mele Pucho, Director of Symphony Academy of Music is a gifted musician and a worship leader. He is also the managing director of Harmonic Voices Nagaland, a professional choir from Nagaland. Mele is also an Event Producer and has produced and directed many big shows in Nagaland.

Symphony Academy of Music Kohima offers courses on guitar, piano, drum, vocal, cello, violin, bass guitar and music theory.
