Dimapur, June 27: A 24-year old electronics and communication engineering graduate Fuchamo Ezung has developed a Bible application for mobile phones.
Ezung is from Mungya village in Wokha district. He is a graduate of Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan in Karnataka. His mobile app is called ‘Yithen Mmhon Bible’ (Lotha for Good News Bible). The app was released on June 24 on Google Play Store and Amazon.

According to the app details available on Google Play Store, the e-Bible app was created with the sole purpose of taking the Word of God to people in an easier and convenient way.

The app comprises “Ntsata Ethan” (New Testament) and “Ethungkhen Pungnoyi” (Psalms and Proverbs) among other features.

‘The texts in this app are the exact copy from the Bible “Ntsata Ethan” which was published in 1966 by EM Mozhui under the Assemblies of God of East India and the hymns are copy of Khristian Elhi Khen 3rd edition which was revised by Thebemo Yanthan,’ Ezung states.

The app is lodged in the category of ‘Books and references.’ It is 4.07 MB. So far, the app has registered more than 500 downloads.

Ezung is working at Telecommunication Consultants India Ltd. in Kolkata as a public relation officer. He told Eastern Mirror that the idea to develop the app was conceived in January during a discussion with his family who did not hesitate to support him. Without wasting a day, he started working on the app the next day and completed the work on June 23 and released on June 24.

“The Ntsata Ethan Bible published in 1966 by EM Mozhui is not available in the market and that was the reason I concentrated on that particular Bible to make it available to the people of this community. Also as a Christian we are attached with the Bible but we cannot carry the Bible in our daily activities. But with the convenience of mobile phone which is available in every individual’s pocket, I decided to create an e-Bible so that people can have access to the Bible in their office, trips, fields etc.,” Ezung said.

Although the texts of the e-Bible were taken from Ntsata Ethan, he named the app ‘Yithen Mmhon’ as the Word of God, with hymns being included in the app.

He said to have paid $24 for the Google developer account, and receives no royalty. The app can be
downloaded for free.
