Kohima, Nov 30 (EMN): The 17th Northeast Chapter of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons Conference (NEIAPSCON) was held on Wednesday at Hotel Japfü, Kohima.
The principal director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Vikato Kinimi, who graced the inaugural session as special guest, said there are billions of people in the world and God has endowed pediatric doctors with the responsibility to look after the children. While commending the pediatrics fraternity for the works they do, he expounded on the importance of their job and encouraged them to continue to be in the service of mankind.
The secretary of Northeast Chapter of Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons (NEIAPS), Dr. Toijam Soni Lyndoh, said, “NEIAPS has meant a great deal to all of us over the last more than a decade. It is this forum that we have come for inspiration, to exchange ideas, to learn, and perhaps most importantly to be with great friends and colleagues here at Kohima.”
“There is much to do over the coming years, particularly as we get ever closer to the milestone of having pediatric surgeons in every health institution of the Northeast and to make our chapter more vibrant,” he said.
He further informed that at present, NEIAPS has a member-strength of 28 pediatric surgeons including 11 from Assam, 3 from Arunachal Pradesh, 4 from Meghalaya, 2 from Mizoram, 3 from Manipur, 4 from Nagaland, and 1 from Sikkim.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Renchamo Kikon, chairperson of NEIAPS-cum-organising chairman of NEIAPSCON 2022, and Dr. Sedengulie Nagi, organising secretary, proposed vote of thanks.
A host of doctors spoke on different topics in the technical sessions.
