14th Saramati Soccer Championship 2022 underway at Pungro town

Dimapur, Dec. 10 (EMN): The inaugural programme of 14th edition of the Saramati Soccer Championship 2022 kicked off at Pungro town.

T Yangseo Sangtam, Deputy Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, attended the occasion as special guest. Sangtam, in his speech, encouraged the youths to focus on sports as it also ushers unity among the people.

Acknowledging football as one of the most popular and known categories of sports in this era, he congratulated all the players and teams for actively taking part in the tournament; adding  that the players need to inculcate three D’s — discipline, determination and dedication.

MhomoTungoe, ADC Pungro, also spoke on the occasion, an update stated.

Throngso, President, SNC delivered the keynote address while Rev. Fr. Peter Pithungo, Parish Priest, St. Paul Parish Pungro invoked blessings for the event. Alenkimi, winner of the Stargazer Solo Contest 2022 presented a song titled, ‘Rise’.
