11th session of 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly adjourned sine die

Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Sharingain Longkumer on Thursday adjourned the 11th session of 13th state assembly sine die, a day ahead of schedule.

Initially, the session was scheduled for five days but was reduced to four days after the listed business finished early.

The final budget session of the 13th NLA that began on March 19 implemented the National e-Vidhan project, making Nagaland the first in the country to go paperless. It also elected deputy speaker to the NLA.

During the sessions, legislators participated in the debate on the motion of thanks to the governor’s address; discussed matters of urgent public importance under Rule-50 pertaining to Naga political issue. The house also transacted four starred questions in total.

Chief minister presented a tax-free deficit budget for fiscal year 2022-23, followed by general discussion and passing of the budget.

Speaker thanked the members for their cooperation and for orderly conduct of the session.

With no business left, the house was adjourned sine die.
