Dimapur, Nov. 13 (EMN): In continuation of the nation-wide campaign on ‘Government e-Marketplace (GeM)’, the finance department of Nagaland organised a 2-day district level workshop at the conference hall of Commissioner of Taxes Dimapur.
Starting off the workshop on the first day, the additional commissioner of taxes, Y. Mhathung Murry spoke about the purpose of GeM and said that the national public procurement portal is to do away with the tender procurement system and replace it with a modern system based on technology. He said that the portal is aimed at making the purchase of goods and services by the government in a complete transparent and efficient manner. He also encouraged the local vendors and entrepreneurs to avail the opportunity.
The workshop mainly focused on registration of buyers and sellers, had sessions. The session includes presentation on GeM portal, Training on GeM portal, interactive session with buyers and sellers and Hands on training/ users registration.
