Senior photo journalist form Manipur passes away

Our Correspondent Imphal, Aug. 10 (EMN): Senior photo journalist Phanjoubam Santosh passed away on Friday evening Wangkhei Meihoubam Lampak in Imphal East district following prolong illness. He was 57 and is survived by his mother, wife and two children. Santosh started photography in 1974 and became a freelance photojournalist in 1980 and later he became the first Reuters photographer from Manipur. He was a recipient of lifetime achievement award in photojournalism by NETV in 2005. Manipur Chief Minister, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union, Manipur Press Club and Editors Guild of Manipur conveyed condolences the bereaved family. The journalists’ community in the state paid floral tribute and observed 2 minute silence for the departed soul at the Manipur Press Club on August 9.
