PDSA 1st athletics meet held

EMN KOHIMA, MARCH 28 THE Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) held its first athletics- cum- 33rd Meet from March 15 to 17 at Pfutsero Sports Complex with Murohu Chotso, Deputy Commissioner Phek as the chief guest and ADC Pfutsero Sangmai C Imlong as the guest of honour. Seven affiliated areas with 237 athletes participated in the meet. There was also introduction and demonstration of archery by PDAA, Mix Martial Arts by ACAC and Sepaktakraw by NSA. The best athletes in the senior category men and women were bagged by Venuzo Dawhou (CASA) and Kevelü Medeo (PASA) respectively. In the Junior Category, Wetsho L. Mero (SRGSA) and Vetuvolü Chuzho (PASA) stood best athletes in male and female category respectively. Chozuba Area Sports Association and Chokri Area Sports Association with 13 gold medals each were declared as group champion. Hukhoneyi Soho and Hüvesü Puro were the Field Marshall & Supervisor for the meet. Earlier, Mulovoto Medeo led the opening ceremony while Rev. L. Ritse, invoked God’s blessing. Krolhou Ritse delivered presidential address. Special songs were presented by Gyate-ü Marhu and Kerimi Lüzo Kro. The closing ceremony was held on March 17 with Solomon Ritse as the leader and special appearance by Atso-ü Koza. ADC Pfutsero Sangmai C Imlong who graced the meet as the guest of honor handed over the prizes to winners. Shetalü Vadeo proposed vote of thanks while Dr. Poyo Tunyi, invoked the closing prayer.
