Mokokchung schools battle it out at inter-school football tourney

Mokokchung, Sep. 6 (EMN): The inter-school football tournament organised by the Mokokchung District Football Association under the aegis of the District Education Office kicked off on Thursday at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex in Mokokchung.

Talinangla, the district education officer of Mokokchung, attended the inaugural function as its chief patron.

Ten schools are participating in the tournament. Six matches were played on the first day of the tournament.

In the first match, players of Children School beat Town Hr. Sec. School 1-0. In the second match, Senayangba Govt. Hr. Sec. School beat Clark Memorial Hr. Sec. School 2-1.

The third match of the day was played between Straightway Hr. Sec School and 2nd NAP Hr. Secondary school, with the NAP players taking the game 0-1.

An exciting fourth match between Govt. Hr. Sec. School Mkg village and Model Higher Secondary school ended with Model Hr. Secondary winning the match 2-1.

In the fifth match, Children School trashed Chuchuyimpang Govt. School with seven goals.

Mayangnokcha Govt. Hr. Sec. School won the sixth match of the day by beating Senayangba Govt. Hr. Secondary School 3-0.
