Kohima police arrest seven persons

Dimapur, Feb. 3 (EMN): Kohima police manning Khuzama inter-state police check gate has recovered 15 soap cases each containing 15 grams of brown sugar along with 20 kg of contraband Ganja packed in four polythene bags of 5 kgs each on February 2. The seizure was made from a taxi (Tata Winger) bearing registration No. MN01G-1376 bound for Dimapur from Senapati. Police have arrested five persons in this connection. The accused persons were identified as Lily (35), wife of Nongbe of Lai village in Tamenlong district, Imphal; Avinuo (28), wife of Dahrie of Phuba village under Senapati district, Manipur; Choune (60), wife of Danyi of Karung village in Tadubi under Senapati district, Manipur; Brecila (28), wife of Bablu of Phaibung village under Senapati district; and Kaisa (30), wife of Akho of Thoifu village under Senapati district, Manipur. In a separate incident, Kohima police arrested one person with liquor and contraband drugs at 10th Mile junction on February 2. The accused has been identified as Chumben E Tsopoe (21), son fo Ekyimsao C Tsopoe of Pangti village in Wokha district and presently a resident of Supermarket, Dimapur. Police recovered 2700 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and 170 pet bottles of Elturex cough syrup from his possession. In another incident, police recovered 38 cases of MC Rum and two cases of Storm Beer from one Mahindra Bolero bearing registration No. NL02CA-0476 at Tsiesema Basa along the Peducha Bypass road on January 28. The driver of the vehicle identified as Suyimsuwa (28), son of Tsuknungmeren of Ungma village in Mokokchung district has be arrested in this connection.
