Peren, Jul 30: Speaking at the Presidential Council of the Zeliangrong Students’ Union held at Peren Town on July 28, Renbeu Elu, former vice president of the NSF has urged the students’ community “to aim for something that is good for everyone.”
Reminding the students gathered at the Council that maintaining decorum and respecting other’s views and opinions is one of the most important quality of a student leader, he went on to add that capable and deserving candidates who were denied appointments under the recent appointments made in the District under SSA should be given due attention .
Pointing out at the wrong implementation by the concerned authority under SSA, he urged for cancellation of all back-door appointments and fresh appointments made at the earliest.
While applauding the Mission Director, SSA for her tireless work towards the welfare of the Zeliangrong people, Abraham, on behalf of the Zeliangrong Baudi, Nagaland also stated that the implementation was wrong while appointing Teachers under SSA.
Due to the failure to abide by the criteria and guidelines laid down by the Government, many deserving candidates have been denied what they truly deserve. Urging for justice to prevail in the Zeliangrong society, he called for open examination so that everyone, rich or poor, get a chance to compete.
Also speaking on the occasion was, Merhu, President of the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), who being disheartened that decorum could not be followed by some student activist during the proceedings lamented, that such students can never represent our community.
On the appointments made under SSA, he stated that “setting a good example for the coming generation following proper rules and guidelines is very important.” Hitting out at the back-door appointments of Teachers, he opined that “incapable Teachers appointed without proper screening has weakened the Education system in the State.”
