KOHIMA, JUL 30: PHE Department, Nagaland today bid farewell to one of its longest serving Chief Engineer, Er K Khetovi Sumi, who retired from government service on superannuation.
Speaking on the occasion at State Academy Hall Kohima, Minister for PHE, Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao described Khetovi as a hardworking person, who had contributed much towards the department in delivering goods to the people. Appreciating the services rendered by Er. Khetovi, he challenged the officers and staffs of the department to follow him examples in the service of the people.
Expressing that nothing is as essential as drinking water, he urged upon the department to take up the responsibility of serving the people with greater challenge and sincerity.
Secretary PHED, Zhaleo Rio, IAS in his speech said the service made by Er. Khetovi will be remembered not only by the Department but even by the public.
The outgoing Chief Engineer, Khetovi in his last words, encouraged the department staff to be hard working saying that there is no shortcut in delivering goods to the people. He also expressed that the achievements made during under him by the department was a collective effort made by all the staff while also acknowledging the guidance of the State Government. He also thanks the staff for the contributions and support extended to him.
Short speeches were also delivered by representatives of All Nagaland PHED Field Staff Association, Ministerial Staff, Accounts Wing and APHE. The function was chaired by the new Chief Engineer PHED, Er. Mhondemo Ovung while Executive Director CCDU Er. Kevisekho Kruse delivered the concluding comments and vote of thanks.
Subsequently, the official handing and taking over of the Chief Engineer’s office was done at the PHE Directorate.
