DIMAPUR, JUL 30 (EMN): The Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Rovilatuo Mor NCS inaugurated the newly constructed DB’s Court building on July 29 at Sanis Town.
The chief guest in his inaugural speech stated that the objective of DB’s is holding the district administration in various duties and functions as the society expect high services from them. He also said that DBs are the custodian of customary law and the responsibilities of DB’s are to preserve and improve the customary and judicial practices. He further urged the DBs to uphold the social interpretation in unity in a society.
Short speeches were also delivered by Kyong Hoho Chairman Yansathung Jami, Head DB Sanis, Khonbemo Ezung and Consultant Law and Order Wokha, Myinthung Lotha. Other highlights of the programme included presentation of welcome song by the students of Government High School, Sanis and folk song presented by Hachang Colony Women Group, Sanis Town. The programme was chaired by SDO (C) Sanis, Orenthung Lotha.
Later the Deputy Commissioner visited Doyang Hydro Electric Project and held an interaction with the officials, Land Owner Union and the Thep Tangti Village Council member.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDO (C) Sanis, Orenthung Lotha, EAC Sungro, Shaying Sheu, Additional SP Wokha, Aron Patton, DPO Land Resources Wokha, Vanchamo Ngullie, Manager, Thep Tigu and Joint Hoho Officials led by Chairman, Yansathung Jami.
