Sharon Stone has compared her love life to the barren Mojave desert - despite having men in their 20s chasing after her.
The 52-year-old actress, who has been married - and divorced - three times, has been largely single in recent years.
‘Life and love is like the ocean,’ she says. ‘Sometimes the tide is in and sometimes the tide is out, and sometimes it’s like the frigging Mojave.
‘Where’s the tide now? For me? Mojave! Fortunately, I like the desert. I’m a desert flower.’
But the star says she isn’t short of offers, especially from younger men who want to date her.
‘I really get pursued by men in their 20s, like a lot,’ the actress tells the US magazine More.
‘They probably know there’s food in the fridge and that somebody’s going to talk to them and ask them how their day was.’
The mother-of-three, who is celebrated for her looks, says that for a long time she struggled to accept her beauty.
In fact, she says it wasn’t until a pre-screening of Basic Instinct in 1992 that she recognised she was attractive. Stone was 34 at the time.
She says: ‘I turned to one friend and I was like: ‘Look how great they made me look. It’s unbelievable’.
‘He goes: “That’s how you look”. I’m like: “No, no. Really. Look what they did”.
‘He says: “Would you shut up? I’m trying to watch the movie. That’s how you look”.’
Surprisingly, the actress claims no one thought she was sexy before her breakout role.
‘I couldn’t get hired because no one thought I was sexy,’ she says.
And Stone says she still has self-doubts, admitting: ‘We all go through it. We wrestle all day long with: “How am I unlovable? Am I too tall, too short, too thin, too blonde, too brown? Why is my life not perfect?’”
She was also reduced to tears while talking about ex-husband Phil Bronstein, whom she divorced in 2004.
Stone - a brain haemorrhage survivor - thinks the 2001 health scare was a result of her crumbling marriage.
‘When I understood that my reality was not as I had perceived it, my body had a gigantic reaction,’ she says.
‘It took a year for my basic recovery. And then my husband filed for divorce...’
Stone says she got injections in her lips to plump them up soon after the split.
‘Nobody loves me. I’m 103. My life would be better if I had better lips,’ the actress says.
But Stone says that after the procedure was done she thought: ‘What the hell?’
She also supposedly said her mouth looked ‘like a trout.’
These days the actress wants to age gracefully - but not without style.
‘You know, I’m still wearing a bikini,’ Stone says. ‘That’s my bathing suit.’
The actress says she doesn’t believe in conforming to expectations as you age.
She says: ‘I’ll be wearing leather pants when I’m 70 because that’s my style.’
