Drugs worth INR 5 cr. seized in Manipur

Our Correspondent Imphal, Jan. 14 (EMN): Assam Rifles of Tengnoupal battalion 26^th sector on Sunday during a routine checking at the check post, Khudengthabi, about 90 km south of Manipur’s state capital seized 1,44,000 WY(World is Yours) tablets and 732 grams Brown Sugar worth approximately 5.78 crore. In this connection, one Noor Khan of Urup Awang Leikei, Lilong, under Thoubal district was apprehended while smuggling the narcotics,  a statement from the Assam Rifles authority said. “Troops of Kudengthabi post based on specific input received from reliable source, smuggling of contraband items, stopped a silver coloured Maruti omini van (MN04A 8994) travelling from Moreh to Imphal at around 1 pm on Sunday,” the release said. The seized items along with the accused were handed over to of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Imphal.
