Dimapur, May 19 (EMN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has lauded the Naga People’s Front (NPF) for withdrawing its support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur.
The president of the NPCC, K Therie, issued on Sunday a press release to the media.
“NPF has taken the right decision to withdraw its support to the BJP government in Manipur. It will further the cause of secularism in the Northeast. We stand together in defending our faith and identity and in securing a realistic political solution,” the Congress stated.
The Congress also stated that the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) ‘while pointing its forefinger at NPF accusing it of double standards, conveniently forgets the remaining three fingers of double standards are pointing back at them.’
The Congress stated further that the BJP and NDPP-led governments in Manipur and Nagaland were speaking against the Citizenship Bill ‘but are supporting the BJP manifesto.’
In another matter, the Congress stated that the ” purported letter to Rahul Ji, Congress President and filing defamation case thereafter, is another double standard.”
“Delhi understands having relation with NDPP means corrupt money and not because of trust or integrity or conviction,” the NPCC stated.
“We cannot allow ourselves to be thrown into dirty mud and I will never ever allow them to betray the Congress again,” Therie stated.
